At approximately 9:00 this morning, the Village was notified of a possible break in a water line at the alley on the first block of Railway and King Street. After investigation it was determinethat there was a rupture in the water line and work has commenced to complete these emergency repairs.

Initial reports from the onsite Contractor indicated that there would be no impact to the residents, however, after more work was done and the break uncovered, it was determined that the only course of action available would be to shut off the potable water system to the Village in order to complete the repair.

Once the system is pressurized again and water is restored, the Village will be in a Boil Water Advisory. This advisory will remain in effect following the repair until such time as water samples can be provided. Alberta Environment has been notified and will advise us when the Boil Water Advisory can be lifted.
